Design Angelo Mangiarotti, Bruno Morassutti.
A project from 1959 by Angelo Mangiarotti and Bruno Morassutti, conceived for the interiors of the historic Villa Schwob by Le Corbusier. Today, the Schwob Table returns in a philological re-edition that restores its structural essentiality, mechanical rigor, and deep dialogue with space, confirming its timeless relevance.
A project from 1959 by Angelo Mangiarotti and Bruno Morassutti, designed for the interiors of the historic Villa Schwob – also known as Villa Turque – in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Conceived for the large double-height hall, the table introduces a modular horizontal landscape that accompanies the fluidity of the space while leaving the view unobstructed toward the exterior. The precisely machined aluminum structure, designed in a cross shape with exposed mechanical joints, supports a marble top that rests on the base purely by gravity, anticipating a principle that would become central to Mangiarotti’s mature research. The lateral handles, integrated into the construction logic, transform a functional gesture into a recognizable feature. Today, Agapecasa offers a philological re-edition, faithful to the original proportions, craftsmanship, and design intent.
